Dear IES Member,

One of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) strategic goals is to position the Society as the preeminent voice and advocate for quality lighting in our communities. Our organization's attributes give us many reasons to believe that this goal is easily supported; our Society's longevity, our diversity of membership and ideas, our advanced technical expertise, and the depth and breadth of lighting topics and applications under continuous development by our committees.

Our new identity program reflects the fusion of brand characteristics that distinguish the IES as a member-focused technical organization with the unique ability to prepare lighting environment professionals — and the general public — for the future of lighting.

In support of the above we are pleased to announce the launch of the new IES website. IES collaborated with the web team at Brand Logic to provide a more comprehensive source of information for our members and the public.

The site will continue to develop in the short and long term as new ideas and requirements emerge. Already planned for the upcoming year is a complete revamp to the Bookstore section of the site to make it easier for you to purchase items online, the creation of a "virtual campus center" for educators/students/mentors, and a link to the Top 100 papers from our IES Centennial celebration. These are just a few of the items we have identified. Your comments and suggestions for additional features are most welcome.

In addition we need your help with identifying members you would like to see highlighted
in the feature member section on the homepage.

Your comments & suggestions for additional features as well as suggestions for members should be sent to:
